About SCP
The School Completion Programme has been an integral part of St. Louise’s JNS since
2002; the main aim of the programme is to address the issues the affect early school
leaving. This work is largely preventative and is done through supports in the follow
areas.
Breakfast Club
A healthy and nutritious breakfast is provided for all pupils before schools starts,
this consists of fruit/crackers and cheese/petit filous/frubes/healthy breakfast
bars/water and various other options. This runs every day and is free.
After Schools Club
A variety of after school clubs are on offer such as homework clubs, sports (basketball.
soccer and camogie), arts and crafts and infant clubs. These run Monday – Friday
and are free of charge. An SCP project worker supports pupils around attendance
and participation in these clubs.
In School
SCP supports several activities during the school week, as follows; Ceol music programme,
speech and language resources, swimming lessons and a range of seasonal and one
of activities e.g. sports day, active flag etc.
Summer Camps
For many pupils this is the highlight of the year. In July we run a three week summer
camp open to all pupils. The camp consists of a basketball week, a soccer week and
summer fun camp. There is a small fee for registration in these camps. These are
run by SCP staff.
